City of Palmdale Neighborhood House Grand Opening
Maggie Campbell Celebrates Her Birthday With Family, Friends & Fellow Supporters of the 2nd Palmdale Neighborhood House - October 2008
I support the City’s Neighborhood Housing Project and its ability to carry out housing assistance and revitalization activities. The success of this aspect of the Partners for a Better Palmdale (PBP) will expand to improve the quality of life in our communities. I have visited two Neighborhood houses thus far including the most recent grand opening on October, 2008. I find that having established the houses strategically in identified locations allows City and resources to be visible and accessible where the need is the greatest. This is a great idea. More importantly, the program members work together with local churches, schools and other organizations within the City of Palmdale. The neighborhood houses address the problems and opportunities unique to each neighborhood and provide valuable assistance in the form of access to parenting classes, LA County services, housing rehabilitation programs, code enforcement, after school programs, Neighborhood Watch and more. If we are to agree that children are our future, then we must work together with programs such as Neighborhood Houses throughout the district and not just in the City of Palmdale, to provide the best opportunities, education and assistance for families with children. We must pledge to implement the best safety measures available in the homes, schools and neighborhoods. Together we can make a difference. – Maggie Campbell
